Sittingbourne Microbiology Laboratory
We currently have a vacancy at the Sittingbourne Microbiology Laboratory. This vacancy is a temporary contract of 10 months to cover Maternity Leave.
SITE QUALITY OFFICER
Outline of main roles and responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Group Quality Manager but also working closely with the General Manager and the Laboratory Manager, you will ensure and maintenance the Eclipse Quality System on a day to day basis.
Duties include:
Managing the internal Quality Control programme (IQC) by preparing IQC samples for the Laboratory correlating and assessing results.
Investigating and completing IQC Failures and EQA failures.
Recording & trending of EQA/IQC results.
Carry out microbiology media QC as required by the site.
Maintaining and carrying out internal and external calibrations (thermometers, balances etc).
Manage and complete all corrective and preventive actions.
Management and action of internal anomalies and customer complaints.
Document control (internal and external documents for site and Group Microbiology).
Manage the site audit schedule and carry out both Technical and Quality audits.
Advise customers as required on quality system issues; host customer audits and visits as required by the site.
Assist the Site and the Group with validation work.
Review and assess the suitability of methods with the Group Technical Manager.
Perform Audits on other sites in conjunction with the Group Quality Manager.
Candidates must have experience of UKAS and ISO IEC 17025 requirements with preferably a Food and Water Microbiology background or equivalent qualifications. They must have the ability to work on their own and manage projects to tight deadlines. The position may involve travelling to other sites, so flexibility and a driving licence are essential.
