Ely Pharmaceutical Laboratory
We currently have the following full time vacancy in the microbiology laboratory at Ely:-
Senior Microbiologist / Section Head
This will be a full time appointment, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekend work on rota basis.
• Reading, calculation, confirmation and assessment of results from microbiological tests.
• Entering data on ELMS.
• Approving and reporting results.
• Providing technical advice and support to clients.
• Implementation of training schedules and co-ordinating staff training.
• Co-ordination of routine pharmaceutical testing to monitor performance, through specified standards.
• Ensuring that all procedures, through Quality control, are implemented and maintained to UKAS, MHRA and specific customer requirements.
• To assist where necessary with report preparation and reporting to customers.
• Co-ordinating and planning the day to day running of the laboratory.
You should possess:
• Experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology / analytical contract laboratory or equivalent preferred, some supervisory experience essential.
• HNC, HND Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent communication skills will also be required as the post holder will be expected to liaise with team, senior management and customers on a daily basis.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Good analytical skills; proactive ability to act upon information given and use initiative.
• A keen eye for detail
• A flexible approach
