Eclipse acquires PMS Micro Ltd

ACQUISITION OF PMS MICRO LIMITED BY ECLIPSE SCIENTIFIC GROUP

Eclipse Scientific Group is pleased to announce that it has acquired Leeds-based ‘PMS Micro Limited’.

PMS was founded in 1986 and over the past 25 years has established an enviable position as one of the leading independent microbiological laboratories in the north of England. 
 

Mark Wood, Eclipse’s Managing Director comments, “We are delighted to welcome Andy Muirhead and his staff to the group. PMS is a quality business with an excellent reputation in our industry and a blue-chip customer base. We have an exciting opportunity to grow the business further by leveraging Eclipse’s broader geographic coverage and range of testing, allied to our industry-leading customer portal, EOS.”
 

The acquisition marks a further chapter in Eclipse’s on-going expansion plans in the north following the opening of its Mirfield laboratory in January 2010. It allows Eclipse an opportunity to provide PMS’s customers with direct access to a wider range of testing – including nutritional, vitamins and additives, pesticides, and allergen testing ,  as well as providing Eclipse an opening into retailer due diligence testing.
 

The fit between the two companies is also reinforced by the strong emphasis that both organisations place upon customer care and the delivery of a quality service.
