Campylobacter in Chickens

UK Food Standards Agency funded research has confirmed that this organism continues to pose a health risk. It was found to occur in some 50% of intensively reared chickens and in over 90% of samples from both free range and organically reared birds.

Many strains of Campylobacter are harmless, but the pathogenic ones have lead to the organism being the number one cause of reported food poisoning cases in the UK, ahead of Salmonella.

Eclipse offers UKAS accredited testing for Campylobacter - contact sales@eclipsescientific.co.uk or telephone 01354 695858.
